Back at the temple, the priest begins questioning Roshni about her father. When asked for his name, Roshni struggles to recall the false name she had previously given. The priest’s probing questions about her father’s details leave her flustered and embarrassed. He then informs Roshni that she must continue observing peculiar rituals for the next 48 days, including sleeping on the floor. Roshni is left in despair, unable to fathom how she will endure these demands. She dreads Renuka’s reaction if the truth about her father’s nonexistence comes to light.
