Instead, she instructs Surekha to prepare for a burial for the deceased child. Kishan, however, insists on searching for the baby’s mother, feeling a sense of responsibility and compassion.
Kishan later updates the midwife on his unsuccessful search for the baby’s mother, bewildered as to why she would leave the child alone. The midwife speculates that the mother entrusted the baby to Maata Rani, believing the deity would care for her.
