Zain Imam to Play Anti-Hero in Gul Khan’s Upcoming ‘Fanaa’
Zain Imam is all set to return to TV after a gap of two years. Last seen as the male lead in Ek Bhram…Sarvagun Sampanna, which ended in September 2019 after a run of five months, the actor will now be seen in Gul Khan’s next titled Fanaa. Interestingly, he will play the anti-hero on the show. The daily soap will also feature Reem Shaikh and Akshit Sukhija
Informs a source associated with the project, “It’s a love triangle and an interesting concept. While Akshit will play a positive character, Zain’s will be negative. A promo will be shot in a week’s time and the show will go on floors soon after.”
Reem, Zain and Akshit remained unavailable for comment.
In a chat with BT, Zain, while talking about his break from TV, had told us, “I continue to get offers for television shows but it was getting monotonous. So I decided to take a break and introspect. I have been wanting to do different things and venture into other zones. I would like to focus on web, films or create good content. I was not able to do this when I was continuously doing TV.”
Reem was last seen in Tujhse Hai Raabta, which ended in July after a three-year run, while Akshit played the male lead in Lakshmi Ghar Aayi. The family drama ended in just two months. Talking about the premature end, Akshit had told us, “I had an idea that our show would get an ultimatum if the ratings didn’t improve, but I didn’t expect a sudden decision ki ek din ke baad hi last shoot kar rahe hain. I am yet to come to terms with this development. The unit is amazing toh uska dukh hai.”
