Sony Entertainment Television, known for its iconic horror series “Aahat,” is set to redefine the supernatural genre with its latest offering, “Aami Dakini.” This gripping new show blends horror, mystery, and drama, set against the haunting backdrop of Kolkata.
The show features Hitesh Bharadwaj as Ayaan Roy Choudhary, a skeptic who refuses to believe in the supernatural until his own life is threatened by a vengeful spirit. Opposite him is Rachi Sharma, portraying Meera Ghosh, a fearless yet naive girl who sees herself as her family’s protector. Their contrasting personalities promise unexpected twists and emotional depth as they navigate a chilling encounter with the paranormal.
Hitesh Bharadwaj expressed his excitement about the role, stating, “Ayaan is unlike any character I’ve played before. The horror backdrop and the emotional depth of the character make it extremely gripping for viewers.” Rachi Sharma added, “Meera’s innocence makes her a refreshing character in a horror show. She rises to challenges and is far from a typical damsel in distress.”
The show has undergone significant changes during its production. Initially, Rohit Chandel was cast in the lead role but was replaced after two months of shooting. Only Sheen Dass from the original cast has been retained, and the show has been reimagined with a fresh perspective.
With its eerie setting, powerful performances, and a haunting tale of love and revenge, “Aami Dakini” is poised to keep audiences on the edge of their seats. The show is set to premiere soon on Sony Entertainment Television and Sony LIV.
