Sheena Bajaj and Rohit Purohit, who celebrated their marriage in January 2019, joyfully announce that they are expecting their first child. Currently four months pregnant, the couple chose to reveal their exciting news on Instagram, coinciding with the auspicious festival of *Akshaya Tritiya*.

In an exclusive interview about their joyful news, Sheena shares, “I conceived at the end of January, just a few days after our sixth wedding anniversary. Rohit has always been fond of children and has dreamed of becoming a parent for a long time. While we wished to start our family sooner, we hadn’t anticipated how long the journey would take.”

Rohit, who stars as the male lead in the popular show *Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai*, reflects on the emotional moment of learning about the pregnancy: “Initially, I was in shock. Once the reality sank in, I was overcome with tears of joy. I struggled to react properly as I had to rush off for a shoot. We did wait for the doctor’s confirmation and the sonography, but I’ve wished to be a father since we got married, and now it’s finally happening.”

He adds, “I’m hoping for a daughter whose personality perfectly blends Sheena’s and mine. I am eager to care for her. While I feel mentally prepared for fatherhood, I recognize that nothing can fully prepare you until the baby arrives. I believe time will teach me everything I need to know.”

Reflecting on her first few months of pregnancy, Sheena describes the overwhelming joy of seeing that positive test result: “It’s the most wonderful feeling after such a long wait. However, reaching the five-week mark brings the reality of pregnancy into focus. For me, this phase has been challenging; I faced extreme nausea, vomiting, and fatigue that often left me bedridden for nearly three-and-a-half months. It wasn’t until week 13 that things began to stabilize.”

She continues, “I didn’t expect the symptoms to be this intense. I’ve undergone several surgeries in the past, even experiencing paralysis at one point while working on *Vanshaj*, but nothing compared to the intensity of this time. My pregnancy may have taken longer due to my PCOD, which has led to infertility and various complications.”

Last seen in *Vanshaj*, the actress admits that she is feeling a mix of emotions. “I am quite scared. It requires immense strength to navigate through the first few weeks. Meanwhile, Rohit is absolutely ecstatic. Every day, he talks to the baby, encouraging it to arrive soon, while I try to remind him to be patient and let the baby come in its own time (laughs!). He constantly talks to my belly, while I need to be extra cautious because of my surgeries,” she concludes.
