Nine years after the chaotic events of the first season, Baek Ki tae is backâand his dangerous sprint toward supreme power threatens to tear the nation apart. Disney+ has officially unveiled the gripping main poster and main trailer for its original noir series Made in Korea 2, teasing an all-out clash among figures racing to exploit an unprecedented power vacuum.
A Power Vacuum and a Country on the Brink
The explosive main trailer transports viewers to October 26, 1979âthe moment a sudden vacuum at the absolute top of government throws the nation into chaos. Capitalizing on the political tremor, Baek Ki tae (played by Hyun Bin) seizes control as acting director of the Central Intelligence Agency (KCIA), setting off a direct collision with the military faction led by General Hwang Dae shik (played by Huh Jung do).
Escalating the tension, Ki tae extends a sinister proposal: “Would you like to cross the Han River bridge with me?” He quickly secures the backing of Cheon Seok joong (played by Jung Sung il), who vows, “I’m putting my trust entirely in you.”
However, resistance brews as a cold, calculating Jang Geon yeong (played by Jung Woo sung) returns to challenge Ki tae’s reign, warning, “Baek Ki tae, you think this will last forever?”
Fast-Paced Crosscuts, Fatal Collisions, and September Premiere
As the confrontation between the KCIA and the military intensifies, the trailer delivers relentless, pulse-pounding action:
- Suspense & Interrogations: Prosecutor Oh Ye jin (played by Seo Eun soo) ruthlessly interrogates Ikeda Yuji (played by Won Ji an).
- High-Stakes Shootouts: Ki tae unloads a rifle with blind fury, declaring, “I will personally choke the life out of Hwang Dae shik.”
- Fatal Ultimatums: A chilling voice-over asserts the lethal nature of the war: “Whether you die, I die, or we both die.”
The trailer closes on Ki taeâs face quivering with suppressed rage, leaving audiences questioning the destructive end of his quest for power disguised as patriotism.
Along with returning cast members Woo Do hwan (as Baek Ki hyun, torn between his brother and Geon yeong), No Jae won (as Pyo Hak soo), and Cha Hee (as Baek So young), Season 2 introduces mysterious new players Madam Shin (played by Jang Hye jin) and General Hwang Dae shik.
