The director of “Alchemy of Souls,” Park Joon Hwa, has been officially confirmed to direct the upcoming MBC K-drama “Wife of a 21st Century Prince.” This announcement comes from the production company Kakao Entertainment, which has taken several months to finalize the director for this highly anticipated romance drama.
Set in a contemporary constitutional monarchy in Korea, “Wife of a 21st Century Prince” will delve into the romance between two royal characters: a conglomerate heiress who feels frustrated by her “commoner” status and the son of a king who experiences a profound transformation upon meeting her.
IU is set to take on the role of Sung Hee Joo, the intelligent and beautiful second daughter of a wealthy family. Despite her privileged upbringing, her commoner identity poses significant challenges and ultimately leads her to a complicated relationship with the prince.
Byeon Woo Seok will play Lee Ahn, the king’s second son. While he carries the title of prince, he lacks material wealth and keeps his true identity hidden. His life takes a dramatic turn after he crosses paths with Sung Hee Joo.
