Undercover Gangsters and Private Helicopter Flexes
The investigation into the five buried bodies found at the abandoned house quickly gained traction when Team 1 identified the mastermind behind the hits. The team learned that target victim Kim Min seo’s (Hwang Jung yoon) husband, Nam Jae gook (Kwon Seung woo), paid 1 billion won in insurance money to cover up his affair by hiring a hit through a fraudulent detective agency run by ex-con Myeong Seok ho (Park Jung pyo).
To gather evidence, Jin Yi soo (played by Ahn Bo hyun) pulled up in a luxury sedan, donning bespoke suits and high-end watches to disguise himself as a mob boss alongside fellow officers acting as his muscle. The undercover crew successfully bugged Seok ho’s office, uncovering wiretaps that exposed the true mastermind: cold-blooded contract killer Yoo Tae kwang (played by Lee Hak joo).
When wiretaps revealed that Tae kwang and his crew were hiding out in Daegu before fleeing the country, Yi soo pulled off the ultimate chaebol cheat code—calling his father to borrow a private helicopter to fly the team straight to Daegu in record time.
Rooftop Showdowns and “John Wick” Precision
Arriving at the Daegu hideout, Team 1 found Tae kwang’s accomplices dead. However, new team leader Joo Hye ra (played by Jung Eun chae) caught a crucial detail: three distinct cigarette butts left behind, proving Tae kwang was still hiding on the property.
Yi soo confronted Tae kwang on the rooftop, engaging in a brutal fistfight. Despite sustaining a hand injury from Tae kwang’s blade, Yi soo drew his firearm and delivered a precise shot right to Tae kwang’s leg as he attempted to escape. Hye ra cheekily praised her own training skills, to which Yi soo slyly responded, “At this point, I’m basically John Wick.”
With Tae kwang in custody, Hye ra delivered the final blow by revealing that DNA evidence tied him to an unsolved robbery-murder from 10 years ago, shattering his hopes of executing the perfect crime.
Gold Handcuffs and a Mysterious Cameo
After closing the case, Gangha Police Station presented young informant Park Ah in (played by Park So i) with a Brave Citizen Award, while Yi soo gifted her custom-made solid gold handcuffs in a heartwarming gesture. However, the relief was short-lived: the episode closed with a shocker as a woman’s body was discovered inside a hotel room, teasing the team’s next complex murder case.
Adding to the suspense, the post-credits epilogue featured a surprise cameo by Yoo Seong won (played by Yoo Seung ho). Freshly arrived at the airport, he took the steering wheel while muttering, “Korea has way too many CCTV cameras,” leaving fans speculating about his true motives.
