The episode begins with Tanushri expressing her firm stance regarding Rishi’s relationship with Jhanak. She declares that if Rishi chooses to accept Jhanak as his wife, they will sever all ties with him. Payal interjects, questioning whether Rishi had attempted to stop Aditi from feeling betrayed. Aditi reveals that Rishi instructed her to remain in Simulboni until the completion of Nutan’s shradh, a period of mourning. However, Aditi feels deeply hurt, believing that Rishi has chosen Jhanak over her, which makes it impossible for her to stay there any longer.
Tanushri reassures Aditi that they stand united with her in this matter. Indumati, another family member, suggests that Rishi’s recent behavior might be influenced by the villagers’ black magic. Aditi, however, defends Rishi, stating that he willingly went to Simulboni and has already accepted his marriage to Jhanak. Tanushri remains resolute, insisting that Rishi will not be allowed to enter their home with Jhanak. Aditi counters this by asserting that Rishi is an adult capable of making his own choices, including where to stay with his wife. She emphasizes that she will not forgive Rishi, implying that he must face the repercussions of his actions.
Meanwhile, in Simulboni, the rituals for Nutan’s shradh are underway. Parashar, likely a close family member, expresses his sorrow and questions Nutan about why she left him and Jhanak. Jhanak, overwhelmed with emotion, misses her mother and begins to cry, feeling as if her world has crumbled due to the loss of both her parents. The priest calls Jhanak to participate in the rituals, and Rishi encourages her to go and sit with him. However, Jhanak hesitates, stating that she lacks the courage to say goodbye to her mother.
Rishi reassures her, reminding her that she carries her mother’s blessings and that she is a reflection of her mother. He reassures her that he will uphold the promise he made to Nutan. With Rishi’s support, Jhanak finally gathers the strength to sit near the priest and perform the pind daan ritual. As she performs the ceremony, Rishi reflects on his feelings, questioning why he feels sadness seeing Jhanak in such distress. Parashar continues to console the weeping Jhanak, trying to provide comfort during this difficult time.
The following day, Jhanak prepares food for Rishi, insisting that he eat it on his way. Rishi responds that he would have preferred to eat at a dhaba (roadside eatery), but Jhanak insists that she knows he prefers homemade food. Rishi encourages her to focus on her studies for the upcoming exams. Unbeknownst to Rishi, Jhanak is hiding the fact that she has a fever, thinking that she should not burden him with her troubles. As Rishi prepares to leave, he reassures her that Nutan is always with her and urges her to have faith that time will heal their wounds.
Jhanak insists that Rishi cannot leave on an empty stomach. Rishi, teasingly, asks if she has any bread to spare. Jhanak informs him that Parashar brought some for him. Rishi offers her money in exchange, but Jhanak declines, stating that she doesn’t need it. Rishi insists that she should keep the money and return it to him once she starts earning, to which Jhanak agrees, clarifying that her acceptance of the money does not stem from greed. Rishi acknowledges her character and encourages her to fulfill Nutan’s dreams. Jhanak responds with a poignant reminder that no one could ever compare to Nutan, but Rishi reassures her that one day she will regain everything she has lost.
In the precap, Rishi tells Jhanak to take care of herself before he departs, leaving her with a sense of longing and unresolved emotions.
