The episode begins with Rishi bringing Saanjhbati to his home, where his family is delighted to see her. Indumati warmly embraces Saanjhbati, expressing her joy at her presence. Putul also shares her happiness about Saanjhbati being there. However, Indumati soon reminds Saanjhbati that she has been ignoring their calls. Tanushri inquires if Saanjhbati did not miss them during her absence. Saanjhbati explains that she has been busy with work, which is why she couldn’t visit. Dadabhai chimes in, pointing out that Saanjhbati has not called them since a significant incident occurred. In response, Saanjhbati asks him not to dwell on the past. She mentions that she ran into Rishi by chance at the market, and he insisted on bringing her to their home.
As the conversation continues, Saanjhbati notices Aditi, and Neelu takes the opportunity to introduce them. Neelu explains that Saanjhbati’s marriage to Ridhiman was arranged, but he has since left for abroad. Aditi expresses her pleasure at meeting Saanjhbati, while Abhimanyu asks how she has been. Saanjhbati replies that she is doing fine, but Abhimanyu reveals that the family has felt lifeless since Ridhiman’s departure and expresses hope that he will return. Saanjhbati questions whether Abhimanyu still holds onto that hope.
Tanushri expresses her belief that Ridhiman will definitely return one day but admits confusion about why he left for abroad. Saanjhbati confesses that she is equally in the dark regarding his reasons and notes that Ridhiman has not reached out to her. She asks the family to convey to Ridhiman that she harbors no anger towards him and assures them that she would not question him, even if he returns with a wife and children. She then turns to Rishi, asking if he has made any effort to find Ridhiman. Rishi responds that he cannot assist Saanjhbati in this matter. Putul suggests that Ridhiman should be allowed to live his life as he sees fit.
Indumati kindly requests Saanjhbati to visit them whenever she has free time. In response, Saanjhbati questions why she should feel punished for loving Ridhiman. Indumati is taken aback, asking if visiting them feels like a punishment. Saanjhbati explains that seeing them brings back memories of the past. Neelu then asks why Saanjhbati has not married yet. Saanjhbati replies that she is currently uninterested in marriage. Dadabhai inquires why she has stopped singing, to which Saanjhbati admits that she sings less these days but mentions that she has been invited to sing at Mishti’s college.
Tanushri asks Saanjhbati what she would like to eat, but Saanjhbati declines, stating that she is not hungry. Rishi encourages her to eat something, expressing his guilt over Ridhiman’s actions towards her. Aditi questions why Rishi feels guilty. He explains that Saanjhbati is special to him and that she has supported both his family and Ridhiman, only to be betrayed in the end. Dadabhai asserts that he has always tried to do the right thing and vows to confront Ridhiman when he returns. Saanjhbati urges him not to blame Ridhiman for anything. Aditi expresses her feeling that the men in the house have a tendency to betray, which prompts Rishi to look at her with concern.
Later, Rishi confronts Aditi about her comments in front of Saanjhbati. Aditi stands by her feelings, stating that it’s clear Rishi has feelings for Jhanak. Rishi insists that Aditi will continue to suspect him and explains that he went to college as a police officer. Aditi reminds him that he signed up as a local guardian for Jhanak. Frustrated, Rishi tells her that he is weary of the accusations and emphasizes that he is not betraying her. Aditi counters that he has repeatedly broken promises. Rishi argues that she is unfairly accusing all the men in his family and questions what would happen if he accused Aniruddh.
Aditi clarifies that she knows Jhanak’s accusation against Aniruddh is unfounded. She expresses that Rishi’s actions are hurting her and wonders when things will return to normal. Rishi reminds her that she is his responsibility, to which Aditi retorts, asking if she is no longer his love. Rishi asserts that both concepts are intertwined. When Aditi presses him about his feelings for her, Rishi struggles to provide an answer.
Aditi interprets his hesitation as confirmation of her doubts. Eventually, Rishi admits that he loves her and acknowledges that his actions have led to misunderstandings. Aditi, feeling it’s too late, suggests they should go to sleep. Rishi urges her not to make assumptions. Aditi expresses her fear of losing him, and Rishi tells her it’s best to sleep now.
The following day, the college freshers’ party kicks off with the host announcing a debate competition. Mishti, Jhanak, and several other students take the stage. The host presents the topic: whether a woman can ever match a man’s level, instructing participants to speak for two minutes on the subject. Mishti speaks first, followed by others, and then Jhanak takes the microphone.
In the precap, Mishti tricks Jhanak into consuming alcohol, leading a drunken Jhanak to discuss Rishi and her marriage. This moment is captured on someone’s recording device.
