Kanwar Dhillon, currently captivating audiences with his performance in Udne Ki Aasha, reflects on his journey in the television industry, which includes notable shows like Pandya Store, now completed its four-year run, and Na Bole Tum, which has been on air for 12 years. With over a decade of experience, Kanwar began his career playing a negative role.

Discussing his journey, Kanwar acknowledges the challenges he has faced and expresses gratitude for his progress. “With the body of work I’ve built, I’ve gradually climbed the ladder. I am extremely thankful to God and my fans for their support throughout my projects. From Pandya Store to Na Bole Tum and now Udne Ki Aasha, I’m aiming to achieve a personal record for the longest-running show. I’m deeply connected to this show and my character, and each project has helped me grow as an artist. I’m grateful to my producers, directors, and co-stars. I believe that success comes from continuous effort; I have always given my best and never sought shortcuts. I hope my fans continue to love and support me.”

In an exclusive interview with Times Of India TV, Kanwar candidly discussed the essential qualities for a hero on screen. He stated, “A hero must be relatable and capable of making people laugh and cry. I find it challenging to evoke laughter, a lesson I’ve learned from my past experiences. Thankfully, in Udne Ki Aasha, I have the opportunity to explore my comedic side, reiterating that making people laugh is a key characteristic.”

Kanwar also addressed his decision to steer clear of negative roles in the future. “I am open to playing a simple, positive character, but I would never return to a negative role on TV. There’s a tendency in television for actors to become typecast based on their roles. I experienced this after Naa Bole Tum, but at that time, I had no choice, as it was my first significant break. Transitioning to lead roles took time. I faced similar challenges with Internet Wala Love, leading me to resolve not to take on negative roles again.”
