Get ready for a fantasy romance like no other! Netflix’s highly anticipated drama, “Genie, Make a Wish,” has just dropped its first character posters and stills, giving us a tantalizing glimpse into a world of magic, mischief, and mind games.
The show follows the arrogant and mysterious Genie (Kim Woo Bin), a spirit who’s been trapped in a lamp for a thousand years. He awakens to grant three wishes to the last person he’d ever expect: Ka Young (Suzy), a cold and seemingly emotionless young woman who becomes his new master. But this isn’t your typical fairy tale. Genie is the “Satan of the lamp,” and he’s determined to prove that all humans are corruptible.
Meet the Master and the Spirit
The character posters perfectly capture the twisted dynamic between the two leads. Genie’s poster is bathed in a golden light, but his captivating smile comes with an ominous warning: “All humans end up corrupted.” He’s an hourglass-wielding devil ready to test his new master.
But Ka Young isn’t an easy target. Described as a “psychopathic lamp owner,” she shows no fear, even as she holds a drill, ready to shatter his lamp. Her chilling tagline, “I am the only evil in this world,” teases a dangerous power struggle. With her piercing eyes and scarred arms, she’s a mystery waiting to be unraveled.
The character videos showcase their sharp, hilarious banter. When Genie threatens to “corrupt and kill” her, Ka Young’s only response is a blunt, “Shut up, go get a haircut.” She even turns his own game against him, coolly asking, “Want me to kill you as my first wish?” and leaving the almighty Genie scrambling.
From the desert of Dubai to a Korean cabbage field, Genie’s journey follows Ka Young, and the stills give us some hilarious moments of him looking completely out of place, yet still charming, among rows of cabbages. Meanwhile, Ka Young remains effortlessly cool, navigating the streets of Dubai with an unbothered, elegant style.

Can this “Satan” Genie break down the walls of the “psychopathic” Ka Young, or will their fiery clash transform into something even more powerful: love? We’ll find out when “Genie, Make a Wish” premieres on October 3 on Netflix!
