The upcoming SBS drama “No Tail to Tell” has unveiled a delightful glimpse of its first script reading session, sparking excitement among fans of fantasy romance. With a fresh take on gumiho folklore and a cast brimming with youthful energy, the series promises to deliver both laughter and heartfelt emotion.

A Fantasy Romance with a Gen Z Twist

At its core, No Tail to Tell is a whimsical yet emotional story about a Gen Z gumiho (nine-tailed fox) who resists becoming human, and a narcissistic human whose life collides with hers. Their chaotic attempts to save each other form the backbone of the drama, blending fantasy, romance, and comedy into a unique narrative that redefines the gumiho myth for modern audiences.

  • Lomon as Kang Si Yeol, a world-class soccer player whose confidence is matched by his relentless drive. His natural portrayal drew attention, showcasing a character who is bold yet grounded.
  • Lee Si Woo as Geum Ho, a mysterious figure tied to Eun Ho by an enigmatic connection.
  • Jang Dong Joo as Hyun Woo Seok, a soccer player living a life completely opposite to Kang Si Yeol’s, adding contrast and depth to the sports-driven subplot.
  • Choi Seung Yoon as Lee Yoon, a confident villain and fourth-generation member of the Geumsoo Group, who also happens to be Eun Ho’s VIP client. His presence injects tension into the storyline.
  • In Gyo Jin as Park Yong Gil, a former head coach of the national youth soccer team who now manages a fourth-division citizen team.

Chemistry That Promises Magic

The production team emphasized that while gumiho folklore has inspired many dramas, No Tail to Tell stands out with its unique setting and playful world-building. They highlighted the chemistry between Kim Hye Yoon and Lomon, whose dynamic as a Gen Z gumiho and a soccer star will be the heart of the series. Their contrasting personalities—her resistance to humanity and his confident athleticism—set the stage for both comedic chaos and tender romance.

“While there have been various works based on gumiho folklore, No Tail to Tell offers a unique setting and world that deliver a fresh kind of fun. In particular, the chemistry between Kim Hye Yoon and Lomon will make the long wait worthwhile,” the production team shared.
