Sanam Johar is best known for his exceptional dance and choreography skills, but he is now eager to shift his focus to acting. After serving as a choreographer for Rubina Dilaik in *Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10* (2022), Sanam has landed the lead role in the new season of the popular TV show *Ghum Hai Kisike Pyaar Mein*. He shares, “It has always been my dream to be an actor, but over the past decade, I’ve dedicated myself to choreography. While I’ve taken on some roles in episodic series and web shows, I was patiently waiting for the right project to come along. Now, I’m ready to prove myself as an actor.”
When asked if he is stepping away from dance, Sanam explains, “Choreography is a demanding field, and one can’t keep dancing forever. I’m not saying goodbye to choreography, but I’ve realized over the past few years that I need to explore other opportunities. I’m thrilled that something exciting has come my way, as this will definitely help boost my confidence as an actor.
In the past, whenever I met people for acting projects, they only recognized me as the dancer from reality shows. I wanted to take a break from that perception and focus on my acting career. I’m glad to finally be cast as the lead in *Ghum*, although I know it will be challenging at first. I’m determined to grow more confident in my acting skills.”
