7.3% Ratings Record! Park Eun-bin & Yang Se-jong Tease Spooky in Love Finale
tvN’s hit weekend drama Spooky in Love continues its impressive upward momentum, delivering gripping immersion right until the very end.
An unpredictable occult romance, Spooky in Love follows the chaotic encounters between a chaebol heiress who sees ghosts and a passionate prosecutor who is utterly terrified of them. According to Nielsen Korea, Episode 10 achieved a nationwide average rating of 7.3% across paid platforms, breaking its personal viewership record once again.
Ahead of the highly anticipated final episodes, lead stars Park Eun-bin, Yang Se-jong, and Ong Seong-wu, alongside Director Lee Min-soo and Writer Choi Jung-mi, shared key behind-the-scenes moments, favorite scenes, and crucial clues for the series finale.
Emotional Peaks, Behind-the-Scenes Bonding, and Character Flaws
- Park Eun-bin (as Cheon Yeo-ri): Highlighted a emotional scene from Episode 12 shared with veteran actress Ye Soo-jung (playing grandmother Baek Kyung-ja). Park expressed deep gratitude, stating, “I was profoundly moved by her immersion and sincerity. Thanks to her pulling Yeo-ri out with love and devotion, we were able to finish the scene beautifully.”
- Yang Se-jong (as Ma Kang-wook): Reflected fondly on his comedic chemistry with co-stars Lee Chang-hoon (playing Go Pil-dong) and Kim Min-ho (playing Son Hyeong-min). “I laughed so much on set with them,” Yang shared. “Looking back, those moments brought me tremendous comfort and healing.”
- Ong Seong-wu (as Kang Min-hwan): Teased a defining line from Episode 12 that lays bare his character’s hidden vulnerabilities. “It contains the fear, deficiency, and weakness regarding everything Min-hwan never possessed,” Ong noted, raising curiosity about how his character’s desperate ambition culminates.
Director and Writer Pick the Soul of the Series
Director Lee Min-soo selected the iconic Episode 3 ending—where Prosecutor Ma Kang-wook touches Yeo-ri’s hand and begins seeing ghosts himself—as his personal favorite. “That was the exact moment Kang-wook entered Yeo-ri’s isolated world,” Director Lee explained. “It was spooky, hilarious, and deeply heartwarming all at once.”
Writer Choi Jung-mi pointed to a quiet yet profound line from early in Episode 4 as the thematic anchor of the entire show. When a father involved in a car accident asks about his child, Yeo-ri—unable to deliver the tragic truth—simply whispers, “It’s warm.”
“Finding warmth signifies restoring human connections and living together,” Writer Choi reflected. “This drama is ultimately Yeo-ri’s journey to find that warmth. Nothing provides solace in tough times like human warmth, and I hope viewers feel and share that same comfort.”
Spooky in Love airs every Saturday and Sunday at 9:20 PM KST on tvN!
