Get ready for an epic historical drama! Tigers Sniff the Rose, adapted from Yi Ren Kui Kui’s novel Princess Shang, is set to bring a captivating story of love, ambition, and cunning political warfare to the screen.
The series introduces us to Yan Shang, a young man from a humble background, and Princess Mu Wan Yao, his long-lost betrothed. Against all odds and social barriers, they find themselves caught in the middle of a swirling vortex of political turmoil.
Meng Zi Yi will take on the role of Princess Mu Wan Yao. Her character is a force to be reckoned with, evolving from a proud noblewoman into a fierce and bloodied political strategist. After a political marriage tears her life apart, she returns to the capital, determined to seize power and control the court.
Playing Yan Shang is Li Yun Rui. Though he may appear gentle, this man of humble origins is a brilliant strategist. Rising from the ashes as the “son of a disgraced official,” he remains steadfast in his mission to fight for the people and deliver justice.
This marks the third time Meng Zi Yi and Li Yun Rui have shared the screen, following their collaborations in Parallel World and Blossom.
Set against the rich backdrop of the Ming dynasty, Tigers Sniff the Rose promises a gripping narrative of intricate power struggles that spiral into chaos, pulling its characters into a web of schemes and political intrigue.
The cast also includes Ken Wu, Li Xiao Qian, Shen Jia Yu, Bai Bing Ke, and Li Jia Xin.
