From Best Friends to Lovers: Kim Do min & Seong In ho Star in Youth BL Romance Summertime
Upcoming youth BL romance drama Summertime has released its character posters and official video teasers ahead of its exclusive premiere on Wavve, highlighting the emotional tug-of-war between 19-year childhood friends.
A Rainy Contrast: Ignored Feelings vs. Buried Desire
The newly dropped character posters place childhood best friends Yeo Eun ho (played by Kim Do min) and Cha Do hyun (played by Seong In ho) side-by-side in the middle of a midsummer rainstorm. Though sharing the same space, their divergent gazes signal a painful shift in their dynamic.
Eun hoâs poster features the poignant caption, “I thought if I pretended not to know, we could stay friends forever.” The line reveals his inner conflictâfeigning ignorance toward Do hyunâs feelings out of fear that acknowledging them will destroy their bond. Conversely, Do hyunâs poster reads, “The heart I hid the longest finally burst at the end of summer,” hinting at the breaking point of his long-suppressed secret crush.
From “You’re Mine” to a 19-Year Dating Proposal
The accompanying character teasers map out the exact moment their 19-year dynamic begins to crack. While Eun ho views Do hyun as an irreplaceable presenceâbickering back and forth before reassuring him, “I’ll stay by your side until I die”âDo hyun’s emotional dam begins to break when a new transfer student arrives, sparking uncontainable jealousy.
Possessive feelings boil over as Do hyun openly declares, “He’s mine,” before making a bold, direct confession to Eun ho: “Since we’ve been friends for 19 years… let’s date for exactly 19 years.”
Kim Do min subtly captures the anxiety of a young man fighting to protect the status quo, while Seong In ho delivers a powerful performance transitioning from a gentle childhood companion to an openly possessive suitor crossing the line of friendship.
Summertime premieres exclusively on Wavve on August 28!
