Arjit Taneja Steps Down from Star Plus’s ‘Jhanak’ Amidst Extended Schedule

In a surprising turn of events that has sent ripples through the television world, popular actor Arjit Taneja has abruptly confirmed his exit from the Star Plus drama “Jhanak.” The news comes just months after he joined the show as a key lead following a significant post-generation leap, which injected new life and a fresh cast into the narrative.

The Reason Behind the Departure

Arjit Taneja, known for his compelling performances, including his breakout role in the Zee TV hit Kumkum Bhagya and his recent pairing with Sriti Jha in Kaise Mujhe Tum Mil Gaye, was the central figure in “Jhanak’s” rejuvenated storyline. He starred alongside actresses Riya Sharma and Twinkle Arora, who came on board as the female leads.

However, the reason for his sudden mid-season departure is rooted in the demanding nature of television production. According to reports, the actor quit the show due to a drastically increased shooting schedule. The show’s run time was recently extended from 30 minutes to a taxing 45 minutes, significantly ramping up the workload for the lead actors. With the narrative heavily revolving around Arjit’s character, the increased screen time became overwhelming, leading to his tough decision to step away.

A New Face Enters the Fray

The producers, Leena Gangopadhyay and Saibal Banerjee of Magic Moments Motion Pictures, were quick to find a replacement to keep the story moving. Actor Rajveer Singh has been roped in to seamlessly take over the character of Rishi. The lead trio for “Jhanak” now comprises Rajveer Singh, Riya Sharma, and Twinkle Arora.

Meanwhile, a cloud of uncertainty hangs over the show’s future. There are whispers that “Jhanak” may be going off-air soon, although an official confirmation from the channel or the production house is still pending.

Arjit Taneja’s exit marks the end of a brief but impactful chapter for the actor in “Jhanak.” It leaves fans wondering how Rajveer Singh will settle into the high-pressure role and whether the show can maintain its momentum under the new demands.
