The latest episode of the tvN weekend drama Filing For Love has officially taken the internet by storm. Episode 2, which aired on April 26, saw the ratings climb to a staggering 7.1% nationwide (peaking at 7.7% in Seoul), securing the #1 spot across all cable and general programming channels.
The Parking Lot Stakeout: Humiliation and “Human Intelligence”
The episode began with the aftermath of Noh Ki-jun (played by Gong Myung) earning the unfortunate nickname “Haemu Fainting Man.” To redeem himself, he is tasked with investigating a scandalous rumor in “Zone F” of the Haemu Group underground parking lot.
Alongside the cold and calculated Joo In-ah (played by Shin Hae-sun), Ki-jun embarks on a “Humint” (Human Intelligence) investigation that leads to a disastrously funny outcome. Instead of finding a way out of the audit department, Ki-jun accidentally exposes his only corporate ally, Director Kim, in an illicit affairโeffectively cutting his own “lifeline” to a promotion.
Unexpected Cohabitation and Secret Memories
The plot thickened as Ki-junโs personal life collided with his professional misery. His ex-girlfriend, Park A-jeong (Hong Hwa-yeon), suddenly appeared at his doorstep with nowhere to go, forcing an awkward cohabitation.
This reunion triggered a memory: Ki-jun realizes that the “secret moment” he shared with an ex on a fire escape years ago might have been witnessed by none other than Joo In-ah. When In-ah confronts him on those same stairs, whispering, “Were you doing something like this again?” Ki-jun’s suspicion turns into a full-blown mental breakdown.
The Mystery Email: The Hunter Becomes the Hunted
Just as Ki-jun was ready to print his resignation letter and leave Haemu Group forever, a high-stakes twist occurred. A mysterious, anonymous email arrived, targeting Joo In-ah herself. The tip-off suggests that the “perfect” Audit Leader is involved in her own inappropriate relationship, setting the stage for Ki-jun to transition from a victim to a hunter.
Power Struggles and Guest Appearances in Filing For Love
Episode 2 also peeled back the layers of the corporate elite:
- Jeon Jae-yeol (Kim Jae-wook): The Vice Chairmanโs instability is growing as his half-brother returns to the headquarters.
- Cameos: Pyo Ye-jin and Shin Hyun-soo delivered a realistic and nuanced performance as a secret office couple, adding depth to the show’s exploration of workplace scandals.
Filing For Love airs every Saturday and Sunday at 9:10 PM KST. Stay tuned for Episode 3, where the audit of Joo In-ah officially begins!
