Lee Sung Kyung, Chae Jong Hyeop Shine in In Your Radiant Season
MBC’s new Friday–Saturday drama In Your Radiant Season has quickly captivated audiences with its striking emotional contrasts and the undeniable chemistry between Lee Sung Kyung and Chae Jong Hyeop. Lee Sung Kyung portrays Song Ha Ran, the chief designer at Nana Atelier, led by her grandmother Kim Na Na (played by Lee Mi Sook). Twice saved from death through his encounters with Ha Ran, Woo Chan gradually rediscovers warmth and purpose. Chae Jong Hyeop skillfully layers his performance, showing a gradual shift from emptiness to hope, while conveying the growing bond with Ha Ran.
Woo Chan’s backstory adds further complexity. After an accident left him partially deaf, he became hypersensitive to sound, a detail that grounds his trauma in realism. His gaze upon Ha Ran during their reunion at Jamsu Bridge reflects the weight of his experiences and the depth of his emotions.
Ultimately, his decision to pull Ha Ran out of her self-imposed winter and into spring is more than affection—it is a life-altering commitment. His heartfelt confession, urging her to live joyfully until spring returns, signals a turning point in their relationship and foreshadows the emotional journey ahead.
