Jhanak 26th January 2026: Ankush to Kill Rishi?

The episode begins with a tense atmosphere as Jhanak anxiously observes Rishi’s bruises, a clear sign of the turmoil they are experiencing. They both turn their attention to the television, where breaking news reports confirm that Indranath remains unconscious following his surgery. Ankush, who is also present, ominously comments that if Indranath regains consciousness, it could spell disaster for both Jhanak and Rishi.

In the hospital, Banumati is visibly distressed as she inquires about Jhanak’s whereabouts from a nurse. The nurse informs her that Jhanak has already left for home. Banumati’s concern deepens when she questions why Indranath has not yet regained consciousness despite the surgery being deemed not serious. She also asks about Ankush’s location, but the staff member admits he has no knowledge of where Ankush might be. Frustrated, Banumati insists that Ankush should be with Indranath during this critical time and instructs the staff to tell him to contact her.

Meanwhile, Jhanak is troubled by Indranath’s prolonged unconsciousness, especially since she did not administer any dangerous medication to him. She begins to contemplate that this might be her best opportunity to escape the dire situation. Turning to Ankush, she suggests that Indranath’s lack of consciousness is due to her having completed his work for him. She pleads with Ankush to allow her and Rishi to leave, but Ankush merely laughs at her request. He dismisses her concerns, stating that if he were to release them, they would expose him. Jhanak challenges him, asking how he can justify trying to kill the man who raised him. Ankush, however, harshly warns her to be quiet.

On another front, Aditi and her parents are glued to the news about Indranath, and they discover that Jhanak is missing from the hospital. Arshi expresses her desire to visit the Chatterjee household, while Aditi, feeling overwhelmed, states that she lacks the strength for any more drama. Arshi insists that Aditi has every right to confront the situation, and Aniruddh offers to accompany them. However, Arshi firmly declines his offer, choosing to leave with Aditi.

Back at the police station, the inspector informs the DIG that their search efforts have overlooked Indranath’s house. The DIG, noting the mystery surrounding Rishi’s disappearance, decides they should obtain a search warrant for Indranath’s residence as well. As he reaches into his pocket for his phone, a letter from Jhanak falls out. He reads it, and realizing its significance, shows it to the police inspector. However, they quickly dismiss it, stating they do not have time to investigate further at that moment, and they head out.

In the hospital, the doctor approaches Banumati with the news that Indranath has finally regained consciousness. Shortly after, the chief minister arrives to visit Indranath, advising him to rest and recover quickly. Indranath expresses his gratitude for the chief minister’s visit, and the chief minister reassures Banumati that everything will be fine before departing. Banumati shares her relief with Indranath about the success of his surgery but also mentions that Ankush left the hospital after receiving updates about Indranath. Indranath grows suspicious, suggesting that Ankush’s absence is concerning and indicates something is amiss. He notes that Jhanak appeared frightened before leaving, prompting Banumati to suggest that Jhanak must have gone home.

Meanwhile, Jhanak and Rishi learn about Indranath’s regained consciousness. Rishi expresses his relief, but Jhanak confides that she never wished for Indranath to die because of her actions, emphasizing that he is a genuinely good person. Just then, Ankush enters, declaring that Indranath is a killer. He accuses Jhanak of supporting a murderer, and Rishi immediately warns Ankush not to lay a hand on Jhanak. Ankush, taunting Rishi, questions what he can do in his restrained state. Rishi demands that Ankush untie him, but instead, Ankush retaliates with a slap, telling Jhanak to witness the agony of seeing a loved one suffer.

Jhanak pleads with Ankush not to harm Rishi, but Ankush coldly reminds her of his earlier warning: if she does not fulfill his demands, Rishi will die. He then aims a gun at Rishi, asking him what his last wish is. Jhanak, in a desperate attempt to save Rishi, implores Ankush to let him go. As Ankush’s man restrains Jhanak, Rishi again begs to be untied, challenging Ankush to see who will perish first. Ankush, feeling betrayed by Jhanak for thwarting his plans, says goodbye to Rishi and asserts that those who betray him deserve to die.

Suddenly, a gunshot rings out, and Jhanak screams Rishi’s name in horror. Ankush, realizing that the police have arrived, expresses his anger towards Jhanak for her betrayal. The DIG orders Ankush to drop the weapon. Ankush defiantly states that he will decide his own fate, while Rishi urges him to stop. Jhanak confronts Ankush, declaring that his game is over. Ankush chastises her for not killing Indranath, but Jhanak stands firm, explaining that she studied medicine to save lives, not to take them.

The DIG commands Ankush to surrender, but he defiantly states that he is unafraid of death. Jhanak warns him about the consequences of his actions, but Ankush dismisses her words, claiming she talks too much. In a moment of desperation, Jhanak pushes his hand, causing him to drop the gun. The police swiftly apprehend Ankush and his accomplices. The DIG asserts that Ankush’s reign of terror has come to an end. Ankush, unrepentant, declares that he has no regrets and vows to return. The police escort him and his men away while the DIG unties Rishi, commending Jhanak for her bravery. Grateful, Jhanak thanks the DIG as he leaves. She turns to Rishi, assuring him that everything is finally alright. Rishi, expressing his gratitude for her life-saving actions, suggests they leave together, and Jhanak helps him, as he struggles to walk.

In the Chatterjee household, Arshi asserts that a husband and wife cannot easily be torn apart. Indumati agrees with her sentiment, while Aditi inquires whether Jhanak will also be joining them. Tanushri mentions that the police are bringing both Jhanak and Rishi home. Aditi anticipates that Jhanak will have quite a story to tell, while Arshi believes Rishi will side with Jhanak. Dadabhai adds that the police will reveal the truth behind the situation. Aditi, feeling uncertain, admits she came to see Rishi, but worries he may not welcome her presence. Just then, Rishi and Jhanak arrive, accompanied by the police inspector. Tanushri immediately asks Rishi how he is doing, and everyone notices the injuries he has sustained.

In the precap, Rishi makes a bold announcement, stating that Jhanak saved his life. He confronts Aditi, expressing his frustration over her attempts to control him and her lack of trust. He then declares his intention to divorce her, shocking everyone present.
