The episode opens with Rishi quietly observing Jhanak as she sleeps peacefully. He gently knocks on her door, causing Jhanak to stir awake. As she blinks away the remnants of sleep, Rishi takes a seat on the edge of her bed, a concerned expression on his face. He acknowledges the challenges she has been facing lately, particularly with her upcoming exams weighing heavily on her mind.
Jhanak, feeling overwhelmed, expresses her desire to return to her village. Rishi, however, urges her to consider his perspective first. He emphasizes the importance of attending Nutan’s Shradh, a ceremonial remembrance for the deceased, which holds significant emotional value for both of them. He suggests that after her exams, she should come back to Kolkata. Jhanak, appearing contemplative, responds that she intends to go with the flow, perhaps indicating her uncertainty about her future.
Rishi, sensing her hesitance, insists that attending the Shradh is what Nutan would have wanted. This prompts Jhanak to reflect on a past conversation with Nutan, where she was encouraged to pursue her goals and dreams. Curiously, she asks Rishi how he knows about Nutan’s wishes. Rishi reveals that he visited Nutan when she was ill, which surprises Jhanak. She inquires further about what Nutan had said during that visit.
Meanwhile, in another part of the house, Aditi confronts Aniruddh about his recent visit to Rishi’s home to see Phool. Arshi chimes in, accusing Aniruddh of enjoying going against the family’s wishes. Aniruddh defends his actions, stating that it would have been wrong not to visit Phool, who seems to be in need of support. Aditi expresses her frustration, pointing out that the only people supporting Phool are Dadabhai and Putul.
Arshi, with a tone of suspicion, claims she is convinced that Phool has engaged in black magic and insinuates that Phool will remain in Rishi’s house indefinitely. Aniruddh, annoyed by her accusations, tells her to stop spreading nonsense. Bablu, trying to lighten the mood, mentions that the village girl returned Aditi to them, which shocks Aditi and prompts Arshi to reprimand him. Anjana quickly takes Bablu inside to diffuse the situation. Aditi, still confused, asks Aniruddh why Bablu made such a statement. Aniruddh, seemingly unaware, tells Aditi that he went to Rishi’s house to gauge the atmosphere surrounding Phool.
Back in Jhanak’s room, Rishi continues to express his regret, telling Jhanak that because of him, she was unable to meet Nutan one last time. Jhanak, feeling a mix of emotions, blames her fate for this unfortunate turn of events. Rishi, reflecting on the past, admits that his accident was the catalyst for many of their problems. Jhanak, taking responsibility, states that she should have been more careful.
Rishi encourages her to focus on her studies and assures her that he can arrange for her to stay in a hostel if she prefers not to live in his house. Jhanak, puzzled by Rishi’s sudden concern for her well-being, questions why he is showing such care now. Rishi responds sincerely, stating that he is reacting to the current situation and hopes that Jhanak will understand why he was previously harsh with her. Jhanak reassures him that she understands his feelings, acknowledging the pain he has endured because of her villagers.
Rishi confesses that he knows Jhanak is not at fault, which is why he is willing to speak with her now. He takes a significant step by declaring that he has decided to take responsibility for Jhanak’s education. However, Jhanak responds that she has not yet made a decision about continuing her studies. Rishi insists that she should pursue her education to fulfill Nutan’s dream. Curious, Jhanak asks what Nutan had told him during their conversation and whether she mentioned anything about her father.
Rishi hesitates, explaining that even if he knows the answer, he cannot share it with her just yet. He advises her to wait for the right moment to learn the truth about her father. Jhanak, feeling a sense of entitlement, insists that she has the right to know about her father. Rishi, however, maintains his stance, urging her to become strong and focused on achieving her goals. Jhanak, puzzled by Rishi’s change in demeanor, wonders what has brought about this newfound concern.
