
Kim Sung-cheol in Talks for SBS Drama ‘Sleeping Doctor’ Opposite Jin Ki-joo
Actor Kim Sung-cheol is currently reviewing an offer to star in the upcoming drama Sleeping Doctor. On February 9, his agency Story J Company confirmed, “Kim Sung-cheol has received a casting proposal for Sleeping Doctor and is considering it.”
Sleeping Doctor is described as a human romantic comedy with a unique premise. The story follows Hong Kyung, a promising psychiatrist who suffers from narcolepsy, falling asleep whenever he faces patients. His life takes a dramatic turn when Nam Ji-oh, a doctor with extraordinary yet unsettling talents, enters the picture. Actress Jin Ki-joo has been cast as Hong Kyung, while Kim Sung-cheol has been offered the role of Nam Ji-oh, setting the stage for a compelling on-screen partnership.

Kim Sung-cheol made his debut in 2014 with the musical Adolescence and has since built a diverse portfolio across television, film, and streaming platforms. His notable works include dramas such as Do You Like Brahms?, Our Beloved Summer, Netflix’s Hellbound Season 2, and films like The Night Owl, Comment Unit, The Disintegration, and Project Y. His versatility has allowed him to seamlessly transition between stage, screen, and OTT projects, earning him recognition as one of Korea’s most dynamic actors.
His talent has been acknowledged with several awards, including Best New Actor at the 2017 Korea Musical Awards, Best New Actor at the 2023 Chunsa International Film Festival, and the 2025 Korea First Brand Awards in the OTT Male Actor category. These accolades highlight his steady rise as a leading figure in the entertainment industry.

Meanwhile, Kim Sung-cheol is also set to meet audiences worldwide through Disney+ with the upcoming series Goldland, further expanding his global reach.
