Netflix is set to debut “Weak Hero Class 1” globally on March 25, just before the highly anticipated premiere of “Weak Hero Class 2.”

The series follows Yeon Si Eun, a top model student, as he navigates the challenges of violence alongside his first friends, Su Ho (Choi Hyun Wook) and Beom Seok (Hong Kyung). “Weak Hero Class 1” will be available for streaming in over 190 countries on Netflix starting March 25.

Based on the popular Naver webtoon of the same name, “Weak Hero Class 1” received critical acclaim upon its release in 2022, achieving a remarkable 45.5% share on OTT platforms. Featuring standout performances from rising stars such as Park Ji Hoon, Choi Hyun Wook, Hong Kyung, Shin Seung Ho, and Lee Yeon, the drama offers an engaging blend of school action and emotional storytelling.

The plot centers on Yeon Si Eun (Park Ji Hoon), who becomes entangled in a dangerous world of violence. With the help of Su Ho (Choi Hyun Wook) and Beom Seok (Hong Kyung), he takes a stand against aggression both within and outside the school environment.

The series has been praised by local media for its exploration of heavy themes like violence and personal growth, delivered through the lens of youth. Notably, the character Yeon Si Eun employs a unique approach termed “brain action,” strategically using his intelligence to navigate confrontations. Under the direction of You Su Min, the show has been lauded for redefining the K-school action drama genre.

Following the success of its first season, “Weak Hero Class 2” is set to premiere on Netflix in the second quarter of this year. This new season will depict Yeon Si Eun’s intense fight for survival and his journey of growth as he transfers to Eunjang High School, burdened by the trauma of failing to protect a friend. Resolve to safeguard those he cares about, he confronts even greater violence.

Building on the story from the first season, “Weak Hero Class 2” will introduce new characters played by rising stars Ryeoun, Choi Min Yeong, and Lee Min Jae, who will interact with Yeon Si Eun at Eunjang High School. Yoo Soo Bin, who intensified the tension in “Weak Hero Class 1” as Choi Hyo Man, is set to return, raising questions about his role in the upcoming season. Additionally, Bae Na Ra joins as part of a formidable alliance that poses a challenge to Yeon Si Eun and his friends, while Lee Jun Young will make a special appearance.

“Weak Hero Class 1” will launch worldwide on Netflix on March 25, with “Weak Hero Class 2” slated for release in the second quarter of 2025.
