A Shocking Transformation and Cliffhanger Ending
Episode 4 of SBS’s weekend fantasy-romance drama No Tail To Tell (Korean title: 오늘부터 인간입니다만, written by Park Chan-young and Jo Ah-young, directed by Kim Jung-kwon, produced by Studio S, Binjiworks, and Mog Film) aired on January 24 and delivered a whirlwind of suspense, sacrifice, and shocking transformation. The episode showcased Kim Hye-yoon’s character Eun-ho saving Lomon’s Kang Si-yeol, only to lose her fox powers and become human.
The Fox Hunt Begins
The episode opened with Jang Do-cheol (Kim Tae-woo) launching a full-scale “fox hunt.” His target was Eun-ho, the mystical gumiho, but Kang Si-yeol (Lomon) became the bait in his deadly trap. When Si-yeol tried to stop Jang from harming Eun-ho, he was ambushed and knocked unconscious.
Sensing danger, Eun-ho arrived at Jang’s lair just in time. Jang lunged at her with a blade, but the weapon pierced only a straw doll, revealing his trickery. Eun-ho fought back, driving Jang and his accomplice Lee Yoon (Choi Seung-yoon) away. She then helped the injured Si-yeol to his feet, apologizing for dragging him into peril.
Eun-ho’s Transformation Into a Human
The danger was far from over. Suddenly, Eun-ho was struck by an agonizing pain as her glowing blue fox orb shattered into fragments. Collapsing into Si-yeol’s arms, she awoke moments later with a startling realization—she was no longer a gumiho but fully human.
Her transformation was the price of saving Si-yeol’s life. Yet this miracle carried devastating consequences: Eun-ho lost all her mystical powers, meaning there was no longer a way to reverse the fate-swapped destinies of Si-yeol and Hyun Woo-seok (Jang Dong-joo). Even Pa-gun (Joo Jin-mo), the one who might have provided answers, was unreachable, leaving them trapped in uncertainty.
Clues of Another Gumiho
Meanwhile, Si-yeol uncovered strange evidence while searching Jang’s hideout. The once-colorful altar had vanished, replaced by an abandoned construction site. Instead of the blade he sought, he found a newspaper article hinting at the existence of another gumiho.
Eun-ho dismissed the idea, insisting, “There is no other gumiho in this land but me.” Still, the coincidences felt too deliberate, as if orchestrated by fate. Driven by suspicion, the two set out for Seoraksan, where gumiho sightings had been reported in the past.
A Shift in Their Relationship
Though their mountain search yielded nothing, the journey marked a subtle change in their bond. Eun-ho, now in her “Day 2 as a human,” struggled with frail human stamina after losing her thousand-year fox strength. Si-yeol, however, instinctively cared for her, his heart racing with unfamiliar feelings. Their tender interactions brought warmth and smiles to viewers, hinting at romance blossoming amid chaos.
A Shocking Ending
The episode closed with a chilling twist. As Eun-ho slept, fragmented visions filled her mind—uncertain whether they were memories, dreams, or glimpses of the future. In one haunting image, a blade pierced her heart, and the hand holding it belonged to Si-yeol, his face expressionless.
This shocking cliffhanger left audiences questioning: Will Si-yeol truly harm Eun-ho? Can the two save each other from their cursed destinies? The suspense pushed curiosity to its peak, ensuring anticipation for the next episode.
Ratings and Global Popularity
Episode 3 previously recorded a peak rating of 3.5% (Nielsen Korea) and ranked 6th among Netflix’s global non-English content (FlixPatrol, January 12–18), proving the drama’s growing international appeal.
