A major scandal is brewing for Chinese actor Xu Kai. On September 8, 2025, a blogger accused the star of being a high-stakes gambler, claiming he has a regular card-playing group and that his luxury home in Hengdian has been turned into a private casino. The blogger alleged that the actor’s wins and losses are in the tens of thousands per session, potentially totaling up to a million yuan a year, and even posted screenshots of WeChat chats and transfer records as proof.
The rumors quickly caught the attention of the authorities. The police have acknowledged the reports and are looking into the matter. Meanwhile, Xu Kai’s representatives have fired back with a strong denial.
The actor’s legal team issued a formal statement through the Beijing Jincheng Tongda (Shanghai) Law Firm, calling the claims “seriously inconsistent with the facts.” They specifically named the blogger, “会拍摄的百晓生,” and condemned their allegations as a severe attack on Xu Kai’s reputation. The lawyers announced that they are taking legal action against those spreading the false information and urged the public to be cautious about what they believe online.
