The Soul Swapping Mystery of My Royal Nemesis Drama

The story follows Shin Seo-ri (Lim Ji-yeon), a struggling actress in modern-day Korea whose body becomes the vessel for the soul of Kang Dan-sim—the most notorious villainess of the Joseon era. The latest teaser dives into the mystery of 300 years ago, showing a softer side of Dan-sim as a young court lady finding love in the rain.

However, that innocence was short-lived, as she met a tragic and tearful end as a villainess. The identity of the mysterious man who stood by her side 300 years ago remains the show’s biggest secret, sparking theories about who he might be in her present life.

A Battle for Fate and Fortune

In her “second life,” Seo-ri finds herself caught between two powerful men. Cha Sae-gye (Heo Nam-jun), a cold-hearted chaebol heir often called a “monster of capitalism,” declares that he needs her “desperately.” Meanwhile, Choi Mun-do (Jang Seung-jo) offers her a cryptic promise of a “real future.”

Premiere Details

My Royal Nemesis is directed by Han Tae-seop (Stove League) and written by newcomer Kang Hyun-joo. This marks Lim Ji-yeon’s highly anticipated return just five months after her last project.

The drama will take over the time slot previously held by Phantom Lawyer, premiering on May 8 at 9:50 PM KST on SBS.
