South Korean actor Song Joong Ki has wasted no time in lining up his next project following the conclusion of his recent drama. According to reports on December 8, the star has received a script proposal for a new series tentatively titled Love Cloud and is currently reviewing it with strong interest.
The upcoming drama promises to be a refreshing romantic comedy set against the enchanting backdrop of Jeju Island. The story follows Kang Woo Joo, a former flight instructor who has since become an air traffic controller, and Ahn Ha Neui, once a trainee pilot. Seven years after their first encounter, fate brings them together again in Jeju, where love and weather intertwine in mysterious ways.
Love Cloud will be directed by Song Min Yeob, known for helming KBS2’s Youth of May and the drama High Cookie. The script is penned by rookie writing team Mad Rabbit, adding anticipation for a fresh storytelling approach.

Song Joong Ki is set to take on the male lead role of Kang Woo Joo, marking another bold transformation in his acting career. By portraying a character with dual experiences as both a flight instructor and an air traffic controller, the actor is expected to showcase new dimensions of his craft and expand his repertoire.
Casting for the female lead is still underway, with offers reportedly extended to a prominent actress who has been actively working across both film and television. Supporting roles are also in the process of being finalized, signaling that production is moving forward at a steady pace.
This announcement comes shortly after Song Joong Ki wrapped up his performance in JTBC’s My Youth, which aired its finale in October. With Love Cloud, fans are eager to see how the actor will once again reinvent himself and bring a fresh romantic narrative to life.
