Yang Yang & Chen Duling for “Kiss in the Wind”?
A fresh casting rumor dropped August 8, 2026, and C-drama Twitter/Weibo is buzzing: Yang Yang and Chen Duling are reportedly being eyed as leads for Tencent’s Kiss in the Wind (等风热吻你).
The Rumor
Yang Yang is said to be returning to modern idol dramas for the first time in 3 years — he’s mostly done costume dramas since his 2023 hit My Love, Enlighten Me.
This would reunite him with Chen Duling, his co-star from the 2015 film The Left Ear. Fans got extra hyped after the show’s producer was spotted liking both stars’ posts on Weibo.
Directors Chu Yu-ning and Lee Ching-jung — both known for hit idol dramas — are also rumored to be attached, with filming possibly starting in October.
Nothing’s official yet. This is all Weibo chatter, not a studio announcement.
What’s the Drama About?
Based on a popular Jinjiang novel, it follows two high school sweethearts who break up — then reunite 6 years later, when she’s a top actress and he’s a cold, aloof forensic pathologist. Sparks (and drama) reignite.
It’s produced by Tencent Video and Insight Entertainment, exclusive to Tencent Video. One catch: China’s drama industry is in a bit of a slump right now, so delays are always possible.
A Project That Can’t Keep a Cast 🎭
This isn’t even the first time these two have been linked to it — the same rumor popped up back in 2023, when reports said the team had sent Yang Yang a script and was working out his schedule. It didn’t pan out then.
Since, the leads have shuffled through:
- March 2026: Zhou Keyu & Kong Xueer
- April 2026: Gong Jun & Meng Ziyi
- May 2026: Song Zu Er & Song Wei Long
None confirmed. Now it’s Yang Yang & Chen Duling’s turn in the spotlight.
