In a thrilling update for wuxia fans, the highly anticipated Chinese drama Zhan Zhao Adventures (雨霖铃, Yu Lin Ling) has cleared a major hurdle, securing its distribution permit on December 10, 2025. This 37-episode series, produced by Daylight Entertainment and slated for CCTV and Youku, is tentatively eyeing an April-May 2026 release, promising a fresh take on the legendary Detective Bao companion, Zhan Zhao.

Directed by Liu Hong Yuan and penned by acclaimed screenwriter Wu Tong, the show adapts the fan-fiction novel Yu Lin Ling by minifish. It blends mystery, adventure, and martial arts in a Song Dynasty setting. The story follows Zhan Zhao (Yang Yang), a fourth-rank imperial guard, who uncovers explosive evidence of an unsolved case from an old friend. Teaming up with the agile thief Bai Yutang and the spirited Huo Linglong, he navigates corruption, conspiracies, and high-stakes pursuits to deliver justice and restore peace.
