After a stellar opening week where it ranked #1 in weekly paid subscriber contributions on TVING (April 13–19), Yumi’s Cells 3 is shifting into high gear. While the “enemies-to-lovers” tension between Yumi (Kim Go-eun) and Shin Soon-rok (Kim Jae-won) is already boiling, a new player has entered the game: Ju-ho (Daniel Choi).

New stills released ahead of the April 20 broadcast show Yumi, Soon-rok, and Ju-ho exploring the famous Busan Book Street. This isn’t just a friendly outing; it’s the start of a complicated “three-way tension.”
Ju-ho, played with charismatic flair by Daniel Choi, is the star author of Julie Literature and is currently managed by Soon-rok. Described as a “cheerful macho” with an over-the-top personality, Ju-ho doesn’t hide his interest in Yumi. His proactive approach is the polar opposite of Soon-rok’s stoic, professional demeanor, leaving Yumi’s “Love Cell” in a tailspin.
Episodes 1-2 Recap of Yumi’s Cells 3: The End of Yumi’s Dry Spell
The first two episodes established Yumi’s successful life as a writer, though her daily routine had become monotonous. That changed instantly when Shin Soon-rok became her editor. Their initial friction reached a fever pitch when Yumi discovered Soon-rok had requested a “writer change,” leading to a hilarious and fiery confrontation.
However, Episode 3 marks a turning point. As Soon-rok begins to change because of Yumi, and Yumi finds herself wavering toward him, Ju-ho’s sudden romantic pursuit adds a layer of jealousy that Soon-rok wasn’t prepared for.
