Shin Su Hyun is officially returning to TVING’s blockbuster drama “Study Group” for its highly anticipated second season, reuniting with Hwang Minhyun in a storyline that promises even greater intensity and emotional depth. On February 2, MyDaily reported her confirmed participation, which was later validated by her agency Management Run, stating that the actress will indeed be joining the cast of “Study Group 2.”
Adapted from the widely popular webtoon, “Study Group” blends high school drama with action-comedy, centering on Youn Ga Min, played by Hwang Minhyun. Ga Min is a student determined to excel academically despite his only real talent being his fighting skills. Set in Yusung Technical High School, notorious for its poor reputation, the drama follows Ga Min as he forms a study group and battles through the unforgiving world of college entrance exams. The first season achieved remarkable success, ranking in the Top 5 across more than 140 regions on Viki, cementing its global popularity.
Hwang Minhyun had already been confirmed to reprise his role, and fans are now thrilled to see Shin Su Hyun return as Lee Ji Woo. In Season 1, her character stood out as a principled and courageous member of the study group, refusing to ignore injustice within the harsh environment of Yusung Technical High School. Her performance left a lasting impression, making her comeback in Season 2 a highly anticipated development.
