Katha Ankahee 24th March 2023 Written Episode Update

Katha notices Viaan going down the stairs. She takes the cup of tea he made for her.
Viaan enters the conference room for his investigation with the internal committee. For a minute everyone else disappears, Viaan tells Katha that this is for them, not for everyone else. She changed everything in his life, forgave him. This is his opportunity to make her believe that he is worth forgiveness, and for her to trust him and prove that sometimes being truthful is enough. No matter how long it takes, she will see the truth in him. He will wait for her. Viaan gains conscious. Katha asks him to sit down, tells him that they have gone through his written statement, but the committee will ask a few questions. They hope Viaan to cooperate. Before the investigation starts, a committee members asks Viaan about an experience Shamita shared with them where Viaan in conversation with Ehsan called all females gold diggers and selfish. In general, women will do anything for money, she asks Viaan if he said so. Viaan starts thinking. The members are waiting for his response, asks if he thinks or said that low about women. Katha tells Viaan that he needs to answer all questions. Viaan immediately agrees, till recent past his opinions about women weren’t good. Katha asks him to continue.

Ehsan roams in circles. Jeetu asks Ehsan to keep his ground, him being tensed wont help Viaan. Ehsan is strong for Viaan but struggling internally with the ongoing matter. Jeetu asks him to relax, Viaan did nothing wrong hence will speak confidently in front the members. This is what worries Ehsan, Viaan knows nothing about being politically correct, he will speak what is principally correct. Everyone in this office considers Viaan to be strict while in reality he is extremely sensitive. Considering this his strength Jeetu asks Ehsan to let Viaan fight with his heart. Ehsan considers it Viaan’s weakness because heart is always at stake when open for war.

Viaan tells committee that he was wrong and that he accepts. His opinions about working women was quiet narrow, he used to think that successful men are a shortcut for successful women but than an event changed everything in his life. The committee questions. Viaan tells that life gives to a lot of lesson, he met someone who changed his perspective. Viaan used to think women bad enough to runaway from them. For the first time he got to know someone from nearby. The committee asks if he is talking about Shamita. Viaan refuse, its only about him. few months back he got to realize that he has no right to judge working women, he has been unbiased towards them but as soon as he realized his mistake, he changed company’s policy towards women. He ensured no gender biasness and equal participation in leadership roles. A member asked if his incident with Shamita happened before his change of perspective. Viaan tells that incident with Shamita happened before, but he has never been disrespectful towards her. Katha asks why he gave Shamita her job back. Viaan told she called him asking for the job on night of Holi. He was asked for proof. Viaan has attached the call records to his file. He was asked about his talk with Shamita. Viaan says that she was apologetic about her past behavior, mentioned about her financial conditions. Her conditions made him ask Jeetu to appoint her back, he was forgiven for his mistake. Viaan thought it was time for him to return the favor. Katha questions as he has been accused of exploiting his position of power. According to Shamita Viaan used to flirt with her, her continuous resistance made Viaan fire her. Viaan struggled to change his perspective towards women but people like Shamita makes him wonder if he was better before. Katha asks him to speak clearly. Viaan didn’t want to mention but has no choice, he tells everyone that Shamita was the one who crosse the line that day. According to Viaan Shamita came to his office insisting to personally share her experience with him. She was dressed inappropriately for the office environment and her hand gestures weren’t ethical. Viaan forced her out. This time when she came back Viaan apologized to her. Katha questions. Viaan thinks that he might have acted out that day, instead of firing her he could have talked her out of taking this road in her professional career. Katha asks about the happenings in his office two days back. Viaan tells that she came asking for letter of recommendation as she is uncomfortable in this office, so he gave it to her. Katha tells that there is no letter of recommendation in the records other than that message. Viaan has no clue why that recommendation isn’t in his phone. The committee members call Viaan’s trick to be outdate, Viaan argues as it’s the truth. Viaan tells that he was on a video call with someone when Shamita entered his office. Katha questions. Viaan hesitantly tells that he was on call with his childhood friend Keith. He put the call on hold but has no clue how everything unfolded the way it did. When he came back with water Shamita started shouting at her. Katha asks if he took his phone with her. Viaan has no vivid memory of it. Katha is grateful to Viaan, the committee will call them after analyzing his and Shamita’s answer. The committee members consider the recommendation letter story to be true but there is no proof. They call history isn’t a strong evidence to conclude the case. Viaan comes out to everyone standing for him. Jeetu leaves for his turn.

Katha asks Jeetu about his narrative on this case. Jeetu thinks of it as a conspiracy, Shamita misbehaved with Viaan due to which he was really upset. Jeetu sent the report to HR to fire Shamita. Committee members call of Jeetu for being loyal servant and collection brownie points from his boss, he wrote what Viaan told despite being there as person. Jeetu agrees, but there was no third person there so the preferrable option to support. Jeetu has known Viaan for long, he speaks nothing more than his work, with respect to women he has been highly professional. The committee tells him about Viaan’s stance towards women. Jeetu argues, words don’t matter actions do. Viaan changed company’s policy for women, he can do nothing what Shamita accused him for. Everyone should take his word, Viaan will come out clean.

Katha questions Jenny for having nearest office to Viaan, asks about her observation the day Shamita was fired. Jenny had left but Shamita visited Viaan without an appointment. She was asked if the protocol has to be followed every time. Jenny tells only if someone has been called by Viaan himself. Considering it a loophole the committee members thinks that Viaan personally called Shamita to his cabin. Jenny replies that the conclusion is not for her to decide, she wants to share some observations not knowing if its helpful or not. Jenny has notices Shamit trying to attract Viaan’s attention, she used to come in his way, smile at him during meetings or get close to him uncomfortably. Despite everything Shamita shouted against Viaan for harassing her. Jenny was questioned because Viaan didn’t mention any such detail. Not that she knows of, but Viaan should have. Jenny leaves. The members discuss a lot of things pointing against Shamita. Katha questions, the minor details prove nothing against Shamita only of Viaan would have complained about it. Grabbing boss’s attention is normal human psyche, it goes for Viaan as well. Its possible that Viaan might have called Shamita in his office to discuss work. The missing recommendation letter and the offer message are big evidence against Viaan.

PRECAP: Farah asks Teeji to convince Viaan to meet Shamita and settle the matter with her privately and to resign from his executive position permanently. Meera discusses her friends offer to move in with her with Katha. Viaan begs committee to trust him, he hasn’t sent this message. Viaan doesn’t know how to proof that he can do such thing. Katha asks him to be sure if he has never offered anyone to spend a night with him for money.
