Maati Se Bandhi Dor 28th May : Jaikant – Vaiju Tussle Over a Land !
The episode commences with Salim arriving late with sweets for the guests, earning a playful tease from Kaveri. Salim is confident that Vaiju’s beauty will win over the prospective groom, but Kaveri reminds him that it’s Nandi who orchestrates marriages. When Vaiju’s mother arrives, Kaveri inquires about the divine guidance she received regarding Vaiju’s marriage. Vaiju seeks her mother’s blessings and shares a warm embrace with her. Her mother is haunted by the memory of warning the prospective groom’s family not to visit. Salim receives a call from them and is left disheartened.
Kaveri probes Salim about the prospective groom’s whereabouts. He reveals that they won’t be coming as they didn’t find the marriage proposal appealing and have no desire to meet Vaiju. Kaveri wonders who will marry Vaiju given her string of failed proposals. Ayo Saheb tells Vasundhara that as the sarpanch, he should be resolving all issues, but his wife counters that it’s merely a responsibility for her and he is sarpanch only because he is Vasundhara’s husband. She brings up a past mistake of his, which irks him. Vasundhara admits she can’t forget about it.
Rannvijay drives around, lost in thoughts of Jaya. Jaya speculates that by now, the marriage would have been arranged. Vaiju, in tears, returns the charm bracelet Salim had given her. Vaiju’s mother weeps, regretting her actions, while Vaiju heads to the fields to work. At college, some boys harass the girls, including Vaiju’s sister. She threatens to report them. Rannvijay arrives, introduces himself, and defends her, leaving her stunned.
Rannvijay hands Jaya her pen back and asks for her name. She refuses, fearing he might ask for her phone number next and then her address. Rannvijay assures her he will find out her name. Just then, Kishore arrives, calling out to Jaya. Rannvijay grins, having learned her name. He introduces himself to Kishore as Jaya’s friend. Jaya recounts how Rannvijay defended her against the eve-teasers. Kishore invites Rannvijay to his birthday party, and Rannvijay inquires if Jaya will be there. Jaya scolds Kishore for inviting Rannvijay without knowing him well.
Jaikant visits the fields where Vaiju is working. He introduces himself as Vasundhara’s nephew and the owner of the 100 acres surrounding Vaiju’s 1-acre land. He informs Vaiju that Vasundhara wishes to buy her land. However, Vaiju refuses to sell any part of it and tells him to inform his aunt that the land is not for sale. The priest presents Vasundhara with some photos for Rannvijay’s marriage proposal, but she rejects all of them. Vaiju declares that her land is her pride and is not for sale. Jaikant sets fire to the crops, but Vaiju remains undeterred. The episode concludes with Vasundhara expressing her desire for a girl who is rooted to her soil, and the priest declaring that Vasundhara’s Annapurna will be Vaiju.
In the next episode: Jaya will inquire about Vaiju’s marriage proposal. Kaveri will advise her to find a suitable man in the city. Rannvijay will propose to Jaya, but she will ask him to speak to Vaiju first. On the other hand, Vaiju will rudely confront Vasundhara for sending a drunken Jaikant to their home at night, upsetting her. Rannvijay will decide to teach Vaiju a lesson. Meanwhile, Vaiju will be captivated by a photo of Rannvijay and look forward to meeting him.
