Imlie 26th March : Imlie Disregards Indira’s Order!
Nirmala asks Indira to ask Surya why was he sleeping on a sofa on his first night of marriage. Surya says sat on a sofa last night and fell asleep on it. Indira asks where is Imlie. Surya says she must be in her room. Nirmala says when her husband used to go out of room to drink water, she used to follow him. Hemalatha says it means BIL couldn’t even have water peacefully. Indira with 2 of them walks to Imlie’s room and doesn’t find her here. They hear Imlie singing a bhajan and performing tulsi pooja and walk to her. Nirmala says she is just acting as a good DIL to gain Indira’s attention. Indira notices her not wearing sindhoor and orders her to wear it. Hemalatha says she should have borrowed sindhoor from here if she doesn’t have it.
Nirmala taunts that Imlie knows the importance of sindhoor as she was already married. Indira calls Surya and says their relatives learnt about their arrival here and hence are coming to meet them in an hour, she wants Imlie to wear sindhoor on her hairline and meet them like a traditional DIL. Back to room, Imlie refuses to wear sindhoor. Surya says it’s a question of his tai amma and hence he wants to wear sindhoor as a red powder at least. Imlie gives him lecture on the importance of sindhoor in a married woman’s life and say she is Agastya’s widow and will not wear sindhoor. Agastya says she can insult him but not his Tai amma and wants her to wear sindhoor at any cost.
Hemalatha asks Mahesh to bring guests from railway station. Indira says Malti was suppose to bring them. Hemalatha says Malti doesn’t want to go and is sitting in her room. Indira walks to Malti and asks reason. Malti cries that guests are coming to meet Imlie because of whom Raghu is in jail. Indira says Surya informed him everything and considers Raghu wrong, so even she considers Raghu wrong; she was against this marriage from the beginning. Malti says Imlie manipulated Surya against innocent Raghu and reminds how Indira’s son Rama committed suicide after marrying a wrong girl. Indira shivers recalling the incident and asks Malti to forget the family issue and pick up guests.
Guests walk in and ask Indira to introduce them to her new DIL. Indira asks Hemalatha to call Imlie. Malti says Imlie will not come out of her room. Surya calls Imlie and requests her to apply sindhoor and come out, but she refuses. He throw a stone via window. Imlie peeps out and finds Surya there. Imlie insists her, but she gets adamant. Hemalatha knocks door. Imlie opens the door and lets her in. Hemalatha gives her sindhoor and says Imlie herself walked into this house even after Chaudhry family’s opposition, she has to follow the customs and accept Surya, etc.
PRecap: Surya notices Imlie crying in sleep and wipes her tears. His girlfriend Anjali calls him and says she reached Purvaiya and asks him to pick her up.
